Apparently I didn't get but a few pictures New Years Eve. Which was a great time for our kiddos. Lots of singing and performances, a ping pong tournament (Cam won), tons of delicious food, enjoying the neighbors' fireworks, and counted down with all the littles still wide awake and toasting their sparkling cider while banging on pots and pans in the street.

Gosh I love memories like this. And I know these kids will always remember these times spent with close friends. This past week, he collided with a teammate at practice and ended up with 4 stitches just above his lip. First time for any of my kids. It was disappointing because he had to sit out for a week and missed 2 games. He was too big for the bed at CHKD and promptly removed his spongebob bandaid as soon as we left. He opted for the lidocaine injection because it was quicker than the gel because he had planned to go to the JV game that night and wasn't going to miss it, despite the fresh stitches and swollen lip.
Update: stitches are out and site looks good and he's cleared to return to basketball. All is right in his world again. Got our tree. A little later than usual this year. Jack was missing because he was at practice, of course, and we just couldn't put it off any longer.
She wanted to be the Wicked Witch of the West. She came up with the idea all on her own. She wanted a witch's hat, a broomstick, and for me to paint her face green. I didn't even know she knew who that was. Afterwards, we watched the Wizard of Oz. She kept saying "I'll get you my pretty". Her friends decided to go with the theme, and we had Dorothy and the Scarecrow. They loved the picture taking and took their roles seriously. It was a warm but windy night, in the 80s, and her hat wouldn't stay on. The older boys had matching masks. Cameron has never really liked dressing up. We also had a Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Elsa & Anna. And Black Panther and teen wolf. Jack walked around the neighborhood, with a basketball of course, with Kaleb and his friend, Cameron. (It was dark and I didn't get to get any pictures of them. But they probably wouldn't have let me take one anyways.) I did get this picture of Jackson making plans.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
