She's all about playing some catch these days. But, this. This right here. This is what I love about this girl.

She's always asking to play catch or practice hitting with Daddy. I don't know what prompted it. But he loves it. And so do I.
We just finished week 2 of school, and we're finally starting to settle back into a routine. It didn't help that we had a whole week off already due to a hurricane threat. The boys are adjusting really well at their new schools. I'll admit, I was so worried for Jackson starting at a new high school and not knowing anyone since he was accepted into the academy and would be leaving all of his friends. I was so relieved when he came home from open house telling me all about the new friends he had already made and the "cute girls". He has such a great personality and so easily makes friends. As a mom, it just makes me feel better knowing he is happy. And after only 2 weeks, he is already asking to hang out at his new friend's house this weekend. He is also adjusting to the earlier mornings. Leaving for the bus stop at 6:20 was a drastic change from middle school leaving at 8:40. It's still dark when he heads out. And he's always been the one who likes to sleep in, sometimes sleeping til noon in the summertime. He's definitely more tired in the evenings and going to bed before any of us. I am also enjoying our afternoons together. His academy bus drops him off at my school, so he spends about 20 minutes in my clinic waiting for me to get off and then we get to ride home together. He is always very talkative and tells me (actual) details about his day. He likes all of his teachers and gets to play basketball in the gym with friends during lunch. This is something that I desperately needed right now. I know he is growing up so very fast, and I love that he enjoys talking to me and telling me things. He's still playing basketball for the Pacers at the field house every Sunday. His love for basketball is just as strong as ever. Cam was more nervous about starting middle school. He was worried about getting lost.
His favorite class is P.E. (of course) and he talks about his Science teacher and how much he likes her sense of humor. Teachers are so very important and can really make or break a subject (or an entire school year) for this kid. He's very conscientious about his work and his grades. He said his English teacher even asked him why he wasn't taking Advanced English. We've had a few crying spells over missed assignments and a chromebook that was left at home. But, he's learning and growing, and I'm expecting a lot of growth from him this year. And, he had straight As on his first progress report! Lately, he's been focused on getting into shape, asking to go to the rec to workout or going running in the neighborhood with a buddy. He's spent more time socializing with friends and even did his homework via face time with a classmate one night. Such a cool ending to this game. This kid scored the winning run in the bottom of the 6th on a play that I've never seen but they've apparently been practicing - the Suicide Squeeze. I was so nervous and didn't know what he was doing when he stole home on a bunt!! . He was pretty happy, in case you couldn't tell. This is his happy dance...apparently.
Day 3 of 4 of no school {thanks to Hurricane Florence}. And he's teaching her to play Fort Nite. Should I be worried?

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
