WARNING: This is going to be a long one. So in the past few years, our family vacations have become centered around baseball. If I'm being honest, we just can't afford to do 2 vacations every summer. But, my kids never complain and don't seem to mind. They still love traveling, staying in hotels, and spending our vacation with our baseball family. Because that is what they've become. In fact, some of these boys have been playing together since they were 7 (5 years!). And their siblings...well, let's just say Bella has basically grown up on the baseball field alongside all of them. Even when we spend every day trudging back & forth to baseball games in the heat (or sometimes the cold) with wagons loaded with chairs, coolers, snacks, and seeds, they still see it as a vacation. Time spent with friends and away from home.
This vacation, however, felt different. We definitely spent more down time at the hotel pool and beach, and got to do so much more. Myrtle Beach was such a blast.

It all begins and ends with baseball. This was such a fun and memorable summer weekend for our baseball boys. It didn't hurt that we won the tournament this weekend. The weather was great, hot but that's baseball weather so we can handle it (as long as there's no rain). Cam did very well hitting this tourney, going 7 for 11 at the plate. We played in Currituck, NC. Day 1, we went 2-2. The second game had us on the edge of our seats. We were down 7-3 going into the bottom of the 4th inning. We finished the game 10-7. Heading home, we got a group text from Coach inviting us all back to his house for an evening of pizza, drinks, and fun on the water. We also got a group text that one of the Dads had broken down. Half of the team showed up to the rescue. The rest of the night went a little smoother. The boys (and siblings) took turns tubing on the water. Afterwards, they played Taps, kickball, and jumped on the trampoline. The little ones were a little nervous at first. They weren't sure about the water.... Eventually, they got comfortable but decided they weren't going tubing. But, then....They did, and they loved it. And they even went back for seconds. Day 2, we started as the second seed. We finished the first game with a W, 13-1. To kill time in between games, we headed to the nearby Morris Farm Market for lunch and some free samples. It was such a cool little place. There was music and shade and ice cream. They loved the apple cider. Back to the field for game 2. We had made it to the championship and faced a tougher team. We were down 3-6, but history repeated itself and we came back. In the end, we won the game 8-6. Our boys played well. Next stop, Myrtle Beach.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
