It goes without saying (because I say it year after year), but I despise the month of February. And this year was no different. In a nutshell, this past month was snow and sickness. Jackson went to school 6 out of 20 days. He spent a week at home sick with the flu. The stomach virus went through 4 out of the 5 of us in one weekend. Somehow, I got lucky. But I was the one emptying puke buckets and caring for sick babies in the middle of the night. Schools were closed nearly 2 full weeks due to snow and ice. It was just cold. Cold cold cold. Miserably cold. We were stir crazy. The boys could do nothing but play video games and we couldn't blame them. Basketball season came to a close quickly. Two weekends in a row, games were canceled due to the snow. Jackson was frustrated. Bella was sad that she couldn't go to dance (they close with the public schools). It just wasn't a good month. And until now, I didn't realize how little pictures I took this month. But how many pictures can you take indoors with everyone just sitting around, in jammies? And no, there are no snow pictures. I hate snow. My kids don't care for it much either. Jackson had a good time making a snow man, though. And Bella was always asking to go outside. But not this girl. Not interested at all. Ever. Bring on spring. And baseball. I'm ready. (This picture I didn't take because I didn't get to go on this male bonding trip. But I had to include it because it was a big part of this past month. Cameron got to see his basketball idol live in action in a NBA game in D.C. Washington v. Cleveland. With his buddy, Kyle. Cavs won big, and the boys had an unforgettable night. They stayed in a hotel and even spent some time sightseeing in the snow.)

Sometimes you have to get in the picture. Even if it is Sunday morning in your jammies, taking a break from mopping the kitchen floor. Because this is what matters.

AuthorMy name is Kaci. I am a working mom of 3. Wife to Josh. Mom to Jackson, Cameron & Isabella. My life is dinner, homework, baseball, basketball, grocery lists, laundry, middle school, wine, video games, and schedules. I started this blog because I love taking pictures, and I needed a place to document our life. I wanted a place to write it all down, to remember little details so easily forgotten in the mad rush that is the life of a family of 5. Through my photos and words, I endeavor to capture our story.
